Casinos seem to be so popular and common that sometimes it feels like there is always one right around the corner or a short drive away. With the economy how it is, many gambling destinations have offered deals to entice more people to try their luck. These lowered prices are not just concerning hotel deals, but all accommodations. These days you can find a wonderful vacation rental for less than you could ever have before and most like just a few minutes drive to the gambling establishment of your choice. With new casinos popping up all over the country, it may be a good time to rent a sure thing before you try your luck on a new hotel.
There are a number of brand new casinos that have recently opened all over the country. Jumer’s Hotel & Quad Cities recently opened its doors in Iowa and Illinois with 1,100 slot machines and 24 table games. Harrah’s Horseshoe Casino opened its doors in August 2008 with 350,000 square feet of 3,200 slot machines and 100 table games in Indiana. In June of 2008, Turtle Creek Casino welcomed guests from all around Michigan and beyond to its 1,300 slots and 40 table games. Finally, the Sands Casino’s 3,000 slot machines and 200,000 square feet of shopping have called Bethlehem, PA home since May of 2009.
Casinos and the traffic they bring to an area are always quite the stimulus to a lacking tourism industry. But the more there are and the closer they grow together, will casinos lose their appeal? Will the distance from one gambling destination to another grow so small that the idea of trying your luck loses it’s excitement and becomes just another Friday night? Lets hope not. The excitement and preperation it takes to plan a trip to Atlantic City, NJ or to Las Vegas is half of the fun, if it becomes as easy as just hopping in your car, will people make the drive?
