How do i get rid of these damn pop ups?
I keep getting these CiD pop ups about online dating and party poker games and stuff, which i’m totally not interested in! I’ve got pop up blocker installed but it dont do the trick, i scanned with avast! Anti-virus and also with spybot search and destroy. It found ”Hot bar” And then it said the threat was PUPS. I have no idea what that is, but i tried to remove it and it said it could still be in memory and i need to restart computer so it can remove it. I havent done so yet but i will later on today, But at the moment, What are these CiD pop ups?? Is it caused by Hotbar?
I use mozilla firefox and updated my windows XP, automatic updates that usually appear.

After all this if you still have issues, download a program called HijackThis. run a scan and post your log either here or on one of their recommend forums. Don’t do anything with HijackThis except run the scan and save a log, unless you know what you are doing or someone helps you.
All I have is an Anit-Virus program, Spybot with Immunize, and proper cookie handling. I never get spyware, and I am all over the net.
I block all third party cookies, allow all session cookies, and prompt for first party. The only first party cookies I need are for sites that I log into or shop from for the most part. All in all I have about 10 cookies.
Oh and SPYBOT is not malicious, that guy is an idiot.
