In online texas hold ‘em poker, does playing sit and goes hurt you?
I asked this at a table last night and several people were interested in the answer: If you play sit n’ goes, does it teach you the wrong things? If your goal is to play large tournaments, is it better to avoid the sit n’ goes?
A lot of people I talked to do really well at sit n’ goes, but very poorly in tourneys. We suspect it’s because the strategies that work in sit n’ goes are actually detrimental to tournament play.
The general consensus of the few people I talked to last night is that sit n’ go strategy may only be applicable to the final tables. But, after I watched a few final tables, it’s nothing like that.
No not really. I try to ram and jam when i play sit n gos because of the short chips and the speed at which the blinds increase. But adjusting how you play should be part of your game in the first place. I change my style based on the table, just realize your situation that you are in at the table and adjust accordingly. But playing sit n gos will not hurt your game in the long terms.
